Who We Are

WomenShine is a group of caring Albuquerque women who recognize the needs that exist in our community. We want to help, but our lives are busy, and the need feels so overwhelming it’s hard to know where to start. So we’re finally taking action in whatever small ways we can to make a difference.

And we’re doing it together.

What We Do

Starting in July 2025, we will meet once a month for a couple of hours to help a local nonprofit or meet a need in our community. We’re making it easy for busy, caring women to have an impact while enjoying some great “girl time.” In essence —

We’re making “doing good” doable. And we’re building our own supportive community in the process.

Why We Do It

Women are the change makers and nurturers of the world. Even the smallest action within the context of our busy lives can make a big difference. Our community, our city, our state, our nation, and our world need us.

For our February Meetup, we’re partnering with another women’s group in town, Mana de Albuquerque, to collect hygiene items for Crossroads for Women. Crossroads helps women who are coming out of incarceration to transition back into the community and live safe, healthy, fulfilling lives. They need donations of hygiene items to help the women they serve.

Specifically, Crossroads for Women needs:

Shampoo
Conditioner
Body Wash
Loofahs
Lotion
Deodorant
Razors
Shaving Cream
Sunscreen
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Tampons
Pads

Please bring whatever you can to our Meetup. Any brand will be great. If you want, you can purchase items from the Crossroads for Women Amazon Wishlist. Their list has a lot of different items on it, but for this event, we are focusing on the hygiene items listed above. Here is the link if you want to check it out:

**This month, we are back at our home location for our Meetups - CoCreations Candle Bar & Decor! If you haven’t been to a Meetup yet, we’d love to have you! If you have, we can’t wait to see you again! Our Meetups are free for official WomenShine Members, and $10 at the door for everyone else. We accept cash, Venmo, and PayPal.
