Who We Are
WomenShine is a group of caring Albuquerque women who recognize the needs that exist in our community. We want to help, but our lives are busy, and the need feels so overwhelming it’s hard to know where to start. So we’re finally taking action in whatever small ways we can to make a difference.
And we’re doing it together.
What We Do
Starting in July 2025, we will meet once a month for a couple of hours to help a local nonprofit or meet a need in our community. We’re making it easy for busy, caring women to have an impact while enjoying some great “girl time.” In essence —
We’re making “doing good” doable. And we’re building our own supportive community in the process.
Why We Do It
Women are the change makers and nurturers of the world. Even the smallest action within the context of our busy lives can make a big difference. Our community, our city, our state, our nation, and our world need us.
If we don’t help, who will?

THIS JULY, WE’RE HAVING A SNACKSTRAVAGANZA!
That’s right! We WomenShiners do love our snacks! But this time, they aren’t for us! For our July WomenShine Meetup, we are helping United Way of North Central New Mexico by stocking their snack pantry!
When we think of United Way, a lot of us likely think about their year-end giving campaign. But did you know that United Way provides critical services to our community all year long? Among their programs, they offer help and resources to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, including adults and children. When people come to them for help, one of the ways UW helps them feel comfortable is by offering snacks. Right now, their supply is very low, so we are going to help. They need peanut butter, and pre-packaged nonperishable foods like crackers, snack packs, fruit cups, pudding, etc.
**Please join us for our WomenShine Meetup on Thursday, July 23rd at 5:30pm, and bring whatever you can. Every bit will help! And note — we’re back at our regular location this month — CoCreations Candle Bar!

WHEW! We were extra busy in June! And it was all GOOD!
In early June… We took the adorable stuffed animals we collected in April to the residents at Morada Quintessence Assisted Living! We wanted each of them to have a special stuffed animal to hug any time they want. And THANKS TO OUR CARING COMMUNITY, EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT GOT A STUFFED ANIMAL! We also led Bingo and had a blast!
Then, for our official June Meetup, we celebrated Pride Month by helping the Transgender Resource Center of NM! They needed help folding ‘Zines — one-sheet mini-magazines that they give out to let people know about their mission and how they help our community. So we got to work and got the job done!
